Not for the faint of heart:

We had a young male Cooper?s Hawk take a Starling in the backyard today. We watched as started plucking feathers as he held on the ground. Whenever he would loosen his grip the starling would start fighting but the Cooper?s would maneuver and hold him down again. He started tearing away at the breast meat and even then the starling continued to fight when it could. The Cooper?s was always nervously looking around to make sure something wasn?t after him and he finally picked up his prey and headed up into the trees. One less Starling in the world and one well fed hawk. Yea!!!
