Dear Tweeters,

Libby Mills found a Sandhill Crane early today (12-04-2010) near Pulver Road. I relocated it this afternoon on Sam Bell Road. This road, sometimes called simply Bell Road, goes due east from Chuckanut Drive, starting near a small grocery store east of the Allen ballfields.

The crane was with a large flock of Trumpeter Swans. A lone immature Snow Goose and a lone Tundra Swan were also in this flock. All of these birds were feeding on waste maize in a stubblefield.

The odd thing about the crane sighting, at least for me personally, was that I had dreamed about seeing Sandhill Cranes the night before! I am planning to dream about a Gyrfalcon tonight.

Yours truly,
