Yesterday (12/4) I did a quick drive-by of the 12th st. NE ponds on Smith Island. Nice and quiet in the late afternoon sun. Not too birdy - saw a female Harrier, two Great Blue Herons and that was about it untill I noticed a single Lesser Yellowlegs very actively feeding about the pond. The ponds have been very quiet shorebird wise this fall, so it was a nice suprise.
