Hey tweets, the Fill was surpassingly lovely this morning, with the
sun painting the sky with streaks of amethyst and gold, outlining the
Double-crested Cormorants who like to perch in the cottonwoods lining
the Cut at night. Cormorants are not nature's early risers, and this
morning was no exception. The two trees closest to Union Bay were
filled with sleepy cormorants - more than 50 per tree.

In University Slough near the New Wooden Bridge, a trio of ducks
caught my eye. Two were male Green-winged Teals; the third was a
COMMON TEAL. Whoo-hoo. - Connie
