Hello Tweeters

This morning's commute included a dark morph Western RED-TAILED HAWK
atop a center light post on northbound I-5 at the 50th Street
Expressway. Continuing on I actually had to stop to get a great look at
a light morph MERLIN perched on light post along exit ramp northbound
I-5 at Lake City Way nearest to the sign post. The facial markings were
weak. It was strongly barred. It had a strongly banded dark gray, almost
black and white tail but the overall appearance was bluish-gray. Its
bill was gray. The cere and eye ring were yellow, and its eyes brown.
The legs appeared to be yellowish/orange. Its size I approximate at 12 -
13 inches. It was looking at nearby bush full of White-crowned Sparrows
- breakfast!

"Watch the birdie."
