Hi,

A belated report from yesterday. Marv Breece and I went up to Vancouver to try and see some of the excellent birds around at present.

The Northern Hawk Owl continues to be seen on Westham Island Road - as previously described in Barry Levine's earlier post. When we arrived at 8:30 the bird had apparently not yet been seen that day. We did some other local birding and when we returned about 12:30 the owl was on show to a group of excited birders. It gave good view and photo opportunities.

We looked for the Gyr Falcon without success around Boundary Bay. At Blackie Spit we had 5 Marbled Godwits, 1 Long-billed Curlew and a Snow Bunting in fading light.

Cheers and good birding,

Steve
