Subject: [Tweeters] spam via Tweeters?

I received the same thing, and I'm sure this is nasty stuff that you don't want to touch, whatever technical category it might fall in. Delete, ignore, don't mess with. I think every type of electronic communication is a stimulus for some breed of malefactors and criminals to do their worst. Perhaps if we returned to smoke signals--no, how about returning to actual live humans speaking words to one another. Oh, but then people sometimes use their words to lie and cheat, don't they. I don't have a solution. But stay away from this junk, at least.

Subject: [Tweeters] spam via Tweeters?
Dear Tweeters,
A message came to me today with "[Tweeters]" in "From" line, but with a subject line made up of nonsense words: "irv mvl ahvef." The message consisted of nothing but a link to a website, so of course I deleted the message without clicking on the link. The sender of this message was, ostensibly, Rupert Grove <rupertgrove at msn.com.
Would this be legitimate, spam, or worse?
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch Near Lyman, Washington (Skagit County), USA garybletsch at yahoo.com
