With Bob Whitney at Pt. Wilson Saturday morning we observed an almost continuous stream of Common Murres flying in from the Strait of Juan de Fuca into Admiralty. Though we were only there from 9am to 10:15 am there were flocks of between 9 and 60 birds passing every 10-15 seconds the whole time. Our quick calculation was 2500 to 3000 but doing it mathmatically it could have been as many as 5-6,000. Don't know if they were advancing in front of the rain since we left when it showed up. There were also a number of Ancient and Marbled Murlets coming in with them and a few Brant.
