Hi All,

My wife and I took a walk along the West Seattle Waterfront this morning and
had amazing views of the Olympic Mountains and light dancing on the sound.
Along Alki, Surf Scoters, Buffleheads, Red-breasted Mergansers, Red-necked
and Horned Grebes and Double-crested Cormorants were present in abundance,
and we saw both a River Otter and a Harbor Seal tooling along out among the
waves. Over at Constellation Beach there were many more Buffleheads and
cormorants in addition to a small raft of Harlequin Ducks and a lone male
Common Goldeneye. Two Red-breasted Mergansers were balancing on a floating
log that was rolling in the waves. The highlight of the morning was getting
very close views of Black Turnstones and Sanderlings foraging along the high
tide line. They had some intense side lighting which ended up resulting in
a few decent photos. If you would like to see them they are in my new
photos gallery here:

All in all it was a great morning!

Happy Birding!
