Many thanks to Ken Burden for driving down to see the Brown Shrike and Steve Kohl for pointing out the bird out. We made a whirlwind 31 hour trip to see it. Got there and it was sunny and mid 40s. We hiked to the site and who should we run into but Gene Hunn. He had the bird in the scope so we got it as soon as we walked up. We had good looks from 50-100 yards. And a bonus was a Crested Caracara in Crescent City.
