Subject: [Tweeters] Warning on Focus on Nature Tours

Tweets,
After having received responses well over a dozen Tweeters readers, some with offers of phone calls for more of the sordid details, I feel I must report back that this birding tour agency is an absolute "must-avoid." Stories ranged from poor organization and equipment, having to pony up money to pay bills, having angry clients leave in the middle of trips, and even of having to bail the owner out of jail for non-payment of a hotel bill. To add insult to considerable injury, and paraphrasing Denis DeSilvas, "all your birds may not be identified." These are the worst stories I've ever heard re. any nature tour group.

Needless to say we will not be giving this guy any business, and I am sure that the many people who have replied wished that they had not been caught in his nightmare. I am not sure how someone like this keeps operating. The website looked great. The Delaware authorities must either be powerless or uninformed. I am so grateful that so many in Tweeterdom took the time to respond. I am unsure as to how else one would figure this out...

Gratefully,
Penny Koyama, Bothell
