Subject: [Tweeters] Trumpeter at Capitol Lake

I've been told that there were four swans at Capitol Lake a week or two ago.

I wonder, though, if the Mute Swans might been back on Capitol Lake. I
participated in the Christmas Bird Count today and saw a pair of Mute Swans
on Hicks Lake and a pair on Pattison Lake. One was seen by another party on
Hewitt Lake (I've seen that bird before).

I thought the Eurasian Collared Doves were the leading invaders in Thurston
County. Now, I'm not so sure. Mute Swans are coming on strong.

On a similar note, saw my first Anna's Hummingbirds in the CBC area I've
been doing for nearly 10 years. There were two of them, in an agricultural
area with no nearby likely places for them to visit feeders.

Hi all,
For those of you down that way, please let me know if the trumpeter
shows any signs of being ill or you find it dead.
While unusual for a lone trumpeter to stay long in one place, I am not
concerned at this point. It does bear watching. If it moves to a new
location please let me know.
This year we are tracking swans in the new and odd places. Sightings are
much appreciated.

Please contact me off list with additional information.
