This morning at a Winthrop business, I found a dead Northern Pygmy Owl. It
was on a bench on a covered porch with a holiday wreath immediately above
it. There seemed to be no injuries to the bird and it was not emaciated. It
was as if it just fell off the wreath, perhaps its roost, and died. Any
speculation as to what might have happened?

On a nicer note, skiing from the Town Trailhead late in the afternoon and
into dusk, we observed many Bald Eagles, a Coopers Hawk carrying something
away, perhaps it was a quail, and also a Northern Pygmy Owl perched on a
tall pine right at the trailhead.
