I too, thought I saw a possible juvenile Yellow-billed Loon off West Point last week, but wind was howling so no scope and the waves were moving in deep troughs, giving only momentary glimpses of the subject. Noticed heavy bill held at upward angle, plumage overall light brown, bill light in color, no clear demarcation line where a necklace or collar would be, certainly size matching that of a Common Loon. But bill did not seem yellow and could not locate any post-auricular spot. Good hunting.
