Tweeters,

This afternoon at about 1:45 pm, I was able to find the Ancient Murrelet that's been present in the Olympia port area recently. The bird was seen yesterday by several groups during the Olympia Christmas Bird Count, making it undoubtedly the best species of the count. Today, it was visible from the public viewing tower behind the Market Place Office Building, which is across from the Olympia Public Market. The bird was about 50-100 yds offshore of the port?s northern gantry crane and spent much of its time swimming calmly with a single Rhinoceros Auklet.
