I didn't hear all the details, but on KUOW (NPR) tonight there was a story
about a Red-Tailed Hawk that was brought into a rehab center in New Jersey
(actually recovered in New York) that was banded 27 years ago as a bird of
the year. Right now it has a broken radius but they believe that will
heal. The real concern is the legs that don't seem to be working correctly
- the rehab guy guesses arthritis? The guy who is rehabbing and who was
interviewed is the guy who originally banded her. Very cool stuff.
