At about 2:30 PM today, among about 150 dunlins resting at the tip of a finger float adjacent to the Ediz Hook Coast Guard Station, was a lone red knot in winter plumage. This individual blended in with the dunlins unless viewed closely, whence the larger size, gray plumage, straighter and thicker bill, and supercilliary line could be seen. I have photos should anyone be wish to see them.
