Hey tweets, for all of you who will *not* be completely birded out by
Saturday's CBCs, you are very welcome to join me and the Friends of
Yesler Swamp for a bird walk through the swamp (see below).

FYI, the Friends of Yesler Swamp won a small and simple grant from the
city to fund a design for a boardwalk through the swamp. They are in
the process of reviewing the companies that responded to their RFP and
will choose a design firm soon. Part of the design firm's
responsibility will be to take public input and try to incorporate the
public's concerns into the design.

My concern, as you know, has always been habitat preservation. I
believe the designers will try to be very sensitive to this concern
(which is shared by Seattle Audubon and many of you), but still it
helps to voice it. The bird walk on Sunday might be a good opportunity
for you to see the site for yourself and make up your own mind. You
will also get a chance to meet many of the steering committee members
and talk to them one on one, if you wish. - Connie, Seattle
