Hi all,
Today,??Bill Bradford, Lora Minty, and I enjoyed a beautiful sunny day of
birding.? Overall, not too shabby of a day.? We got a late start in the
Highlands but saw some fun stuff before the light was fading.?
Here is a?brief update of today's sighting.? More later when?I return.
Clarke's Grebe: Murphy Rd near Chief Joseph Dam (Douglas Co)
Northern Pygmy Owl: 1 bird perched low along Havillah Rd
Northern Saw-whet Owl: 2 birds at Bridgeport State Park.? Crippling views of one
bird in the open.
Great Horned Owl: 2 birds on Mary Ann Creek Rd
Sharp tailed Grouse: 20 plus?trusting chickens?feeding along water birches on
Bridgeport Hill Rd.
Gray Patridge: 13 birds near Withow in Douglas Co.
Northern Shrikes: 10 birds?along Waterville Plateau
Red breasted Sapsucker: One bird feeding on crabapples on Nealy Rd. A
rare-county bird.
Bohemian Waxwings: Several small flocks at Bridgeport State Park and Hwy 97 near
Tonasket
Gray-crowned Rosyfinches: A small roosting flock along Nealy Rd
Snow Buntings: A large cooperative flock of 300-350 birds along Nealy Rd,?40
plus birds?near Mansfield
