Tried out the Wahkiakum CBC today and was assigned Little Island, across the bridge from Cathlamet on the way to Puget Island. Of interest were Black Phoebe, Redhead, and Rock Pigeon. Yes, apparently pigeons are a tough bird for county listers. It was calling from under the bridge crossing the Columbia, and later Elaine saw a single pigeon just south of the bridge. The Redhead was east of the island and easier to see from the NE corner north of Puget Island. The Black Phoebe seemed content foraging in the vicinity of the expulsion pump at the north end of the island about a quarter mile beyond where SR 409 heads directly south toward the ferry.

The Ridgefield phoebe was still being seen this week along the River S auto tour route.
