A bit of an late posting but my cousin, dad and I got back on 30th
from a three day trip to the okanogan, waterville plateau. I had a
great time and got 4 new birds on my life list, I also want to thank
Stefan for his posting It helped us find many birds. We started on
the plateau early morning of the 27th and here are the birds of the
day.

7 gray partridge-division road and 172
2 great horned owls
1 snowy owl along G road past Mansfield
10 snow buntings in mixed flocks of horned larks
3 rough legged hawks 172
7 northern shrikes all over
Heading down off the plateau we saw 2 SHARP TAILED GROUSE at wells
wildlife area Bridgeport hill road. We than kept heading down to
bridgeport bar and found a flock of 170 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS which was
very nice,and for the fist time found the N. SAW-WET OWL at bridgeport
state park.
The next morning we headed to the highlands and had a great day of birding.
We found 4 more SHARP TAILED GROUSE 1 at Molson road and 3 at mary ann
creek road.
2 ruffed grouse 1 in the water birch on Chesaw road and 1 on Neally road.
3 northern pygmy owls 1 on havilah road 1 near Chesaw 1 hungry hallow
road.
50 gray crowned rose finchs at hungry hallow road feeders.
2 pine grosbeak on neally road
1 pileated woodpecker on havilah road
1 belted kingfisher hunting along the creek near Chesaw
WE had a great day up at the highlands and for the last day headed to
Cameron Lake road and within two miles from hwy 97 found 1 prairie
falcon and 2 golden eagles and big flocks of horned larks, we kept going
and fond the gray morph gyrfalcon which was incredible.It was a great
trip, and thanks for all postings it really helped us find some new
birds.
