The I-5 bridge over the Lewis River is in Clark County. The border between Clark and Cowlitz Counties runs down the center of Horseshoe Lake, which as an oxbow lake, was the channel of the Lewis River when the boundary was drawn long ago. Wilson Cady

Tweeters,

While driving I-5 Northbound today I observed 3 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS soaring in unison about 200 feet above the Lewis River almost directly above the I-5 bridged lanes. This is just south of exit 21 on I-5. The river marks the boundry of both Clark and Cowlitz Counties where this species is listed as a code 5 bird in both.
