And there is a nice interview with the Stacey O'Brien on my current
favorite radio show Inquiry on WICN (Worcester, MA) that you can
download as an MP3 if you are curious about the book. Mark Lynch is
enthusiastic birder (and radio show presenter amongst other things).

If you like Owls and Human interactions then Bernd Heinrich's book One
Man's Owl is a good read (and a good insight into how to do
observational behavior studies and the behavior of a Great Horned
Owl). It was previously released as An Owl in the House: A
Naturalist's Diary.
