Discovery Park has been hosting a SAS Neighborhood Bird Survey for the last six years. We currently have teams covering eleven routes within the park and are hoping to additional routes in the future. With this large territory and multiple teams we are always in need of an influx of new volunteers. Currently there is one route completely open with no team at all. If you are interested in joining this citizen science effort please feel free to contact me directly.
The surveys occur the first Saturday of each month rain or shine. The start time depends on the time of year and each route takes an average of an hour and half. We encourage intermediate to advanced birders who are interested in making a long term commitment to the project.
If you are interested in more details regarding this project please check out Seattle Audubon's website.
