There were 104 trumpeters (including at least 16 juveniles) feeding in a field at the Schmuck-Port Williams Rd. intersection from 8:30-noon today. That is the highest count I have of the species in that area during the past two winters. There were also 2 trumpeters flying near 3 Crabs Rd. this morning, but none were seen along Towne Rd., where they have also been common during the last month. Out of curiosity about the region's total numbers in late winter, did anyone else see trumpeters in the Sequim/Port Angeles area during this period?
