Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 4. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On January 31 a probable RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD visited a feeder in
Beaverton. The EE Wilson SWA YELLOW- BELLIED SAPSUCKER and the Gaston HOODED
ORIOLE are still being seen.

The spring migration of TURKEY VULTURES apparently has begun. One was in
Salem January 29. SAY?S PHOEBE sighting are also increasing.

Up to 40 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES are now being seen at a grain elevator near
Kelly Point Park in North Portland. Another 40 are coming to a grain
elevator at McCoy near Perrydale.

On January 31 a PALM WARBLER was in North Bend. That day 30 LAPLAND
LONGSPURS were at New River.

On February 2 a female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK visited a feeder south of
Scappoose. On February 3 a winter plumaged male WESTERN TANAGER visited a
suet feeder in the ST. Johns neighborhood of Portland. The North Portland
MAGPIE continues to be seen. Both scaup and both goldeneye are now being
seen at Broughton Beach near the Portland Airport. A couple of SHORT-EARED
OWLS are also in the area.

Large numbers of CANVASBACK continue at Jackson Bottom. Two CINNAMON TEAL
were there January 28. On February 2, 45 GREAT EGRETS were near Finley NWR.
A male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was near Canyonville January 28.
