A bit belated thanks to all of you who shared your experiences and
info related to the ridding-of-rats questions I asked in a post last
week. The gal who asked me to ask you, is very appreciative of your
responses as well, and will now continue working on her rat problem in
a more healthful and safe way, and I know that I, too, will use this
information when I face an ingress of these vermin.

A quick summary of your combined suggestions:

1. Block their entrance 2. Set and secure either snap traps or
the newer "Zappers" 3. Bag and deposit trapped (and snapped or
zapped) rat bodies in the garbage 4. Avoid using rodenticide 5.
Rodenticide can have an adverse effect on birds and other wildlife,
through ingestion of dead rats or direct ingestion of the poison.

Rat On!!!
