Subject: [Tweeters] Valentine Road (Skagit) - "pink-sided" Dark-eyed Junco

Hi Tweets,

Reading Brian Bell's mention of the "feeder house" on Valentine Road in
Skagit reminded me that we saw a *"pink-sided"** DARK-EYED JUNCO* there
during the BirdWatch<http://www.seattleaudubon.org/sas/WhatWeDo/EnvironmentalEducation/HighSchoolProgram/JoinBirdWatch.aspx>'s
(*Seattle Audubon's high school birdwatching program*) annual Skagit Field
Trip on Saturday, February 6th. There are a ton of birds at this location
but Brendan McGary and myself both got good looks at this bird as it perched
on top of some *salal *on the opposite side of the street. Pale hood and
peachy sides with a dark mask between the bill and eye.

Only the second time I have seen this subspecies - the other time was in the
mountains of Colorado during winter.

Cheers,
Adam
