Weather was foggy and cool. Lot's of Holiday foot traffic. Sightings included several large flocks of geese. Numerous Northern Shovelers and Northern Pintails. A handful of American Coots, buffleheads and great blue herons.

The highlight of the walk was a bittern near the service road north of the visitors center. We observed the bittern catch and consume what looked to be a large salamander. It took several minutes before it was swallowed hole.

Not to many steps from there we also spotted a beaver.

The bald eagle numbers continue to diminish, only two or three were present.
