Greetings,
?
?On an exercise walk, I saw 3 male Red-breasted Mergansers about 100 yards off the northern tip of the Bailey Peninsula, Seward Park, Seattle.? This was?about 0830 this morning. Thought I had seen at least one on Saturday, but it was too far to call.? The shaggy nape, slightly smaller size, lack of white sides, and white neck collar helped separate them from the more abundant Common Mergansers.? Later,?I returned with a scope to confirm.? There was also a Hooded Merganser which made for a three merganser (species) exercise walk.? Further off shore toward the I-90 Bridge there was a Red-necked Grebe.
