Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday February 18. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The HOODED ORIOLE at first and Cottonwood streets in Gaston continues to be
see.

SANDHILL CRANES and BALD EAGLES are now moving north and are increasing on
Sauvie Island. CACKLING GEESE are also moving, and SAY?S PHOEBE sightings
east of the Cascades are increasing.

On February 14 a TURKEY VULTURE was at the mouth of the Columbia River. A
pale sparrow seen February 13 at Svenson Island east of Astoria was thought
to be a BREWER?S SPARROW.

The SAGE SPARROW at the entrance to the Shillipoo WA south of Vancouver Lake
was seen again February 14. On February 15 a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON and a
TREE SWALLOW were at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro. Ten TREE SWALLOWS ere seen
February 17 in Eugene.

A trip to the Wallowa Valley during the week produced a GYRFALCON, BOHEMIAN
WAXWINGS, GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES, and GRAY PARTRIDGES. The waxwings were
not seen in the cities but in the country eating juniper berries.
