Got trees? Find out from certified arborists, Seattle Audubon
Society, WA Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, some local conservation groups
and your neighbors, what you can do to enrich your neighborhood
habitat through good care and maintenance of your large trees,
including pointers on how to avoid storm damage, increase your
property value and co-exist with a variety of wildlife species,
particularly the growing population of Merlins in and around Seattle.

This free meeting is an expanded version of one that North Seattle
Merlin Watchers hosted last March in Victory Heights. This year these
Merlin-worthy citizens are partnering with Meadowbrook Community
Center to offer a more comprehensive discussion of the effects of
urban habitat on desired urban wildlife and vice versa. There will
not only be the same 3 speakers as last year (certified arborist Paul
Thompson, wildlife biologist Chris Anderson, and SAS Conservation
Director), but also a selection of local non-profit conservation
groups, such as Green Seattle Partnership and Bats NW, plus various
other group representatives sprinkled about in the audience. The
talks will reflect updated information and will include a couple of
short slideshows. There will be a Q&A session after the speakers
present, table displays of information, and the ever-important table
of "Treets"!

Though this is billed as a North Seattle happening, anyone with an
interest in large trees and/or any of the related topics mentioned
above, is welcome to join us at this meeting.

March 11, 2010 - doors open at 6:30 p.m., meeting starts at 7 and will
go until 8:30, with time both before and after the meeting, for you to
mingle and munch.

So, go out on a limb and branch out a bit and come to this meeting at
Meadowbrook Community Center - 10517 35th Ave NE, Seattle (just across
from the Meadowbrook Ponds).
