hi group ... gorgeous but rather WINDY day !!!!!!!!!! ... white-caps
on the Columbia ... tweety-bird action was basically non-existent ...
big groups of Cacklers and lots of pairs of Canadas spread around ...
lots of Scaups and Ring-necks on Red-tail Lake ... Buffleheads and
Hooded Mergansers too ... Mallards and Shovelers ... there was a
Bittern along the shore ... someone told us they saw a Virginia Rail
at the edge of the lake too but we didn't see any ... overhead saw
one Red-tail and one Harrier ... a male Kestrel was in the trees on
the north of the dike trail upsetting a male Pileated Woodpecker ...
and a Bald Eagle was on a nest in the trees between the dike and the
Columbia ... but what we liked the best were the 125+ Great-Blue
Herons all lined up just standing along the shore of Red-tail Lake !!!!!
