On Sunday, we found a pair of pileated woodpeckers in the Carty unit,
doing their best to hammer holes in a fir snag. I could only get
photos of the female, but the other bird was a male.

Today was dark raptor day. There were at least two Harlan's present,
one adult and one juvenile bird, plus what I believe was a dark morph
redtail (rufus sheen to the dark breast) perched on a blackberry
bramble at the south end of Long Lake. I will post photos once I get
them on the machine and see how they turned out...
