Hey tweets, we have a great opportunity to help the teenage bird club
in our state, BirdWatch. The Barnes & Noble bookstore in University
Village has committed to give a percentage of all sales to the group
for the next six days. This includes books, magazines, geegaws, even
lattes!

All you have to do is buy something from Barnes & Noble and tell the
cashier that you are participating in Seattle Audubon's fundraiser.
They should handle everything else.

For those of us who have never heard of BirdWatch, it's a bird club
formed by a teenager in our state years ago and run through Seattle
Audubon's education arm. The club is a way for teens of like mind to
get together to bird, learn more about natural history, and give back
to the birding community. The club is also a good way to recruit young
people to birding. Due to budget constraints that we're all too well
aware of, the club is hurting for money.

I think it's wonderful of Barnes & Noble to support kids in this way.
These kids are one of our best hopes of the future for birding and
bird conservation in Washington. They're a wonderful group of
dedicated kids who need our help. If you can afford to pitch in, now
is the time.

By the way, (and I hope you will forgive the plug), Constancy Press
has committed to donate 20 percent of all sales for the next six days.
You can order "In My Nature" direct from www.constancypress.com.
Please include a note that you are participating in the BirdWatch
fundraiser, and I will take care of the rest. I only wish I could
afford to give even more. - Connie, Seattle
