The flock of 40-50 Long-tailed Ducks are still in the area between Marrowstone and Indian Island though spread out more than they were in the fall. Small flocks of Rhinoceros Auklets (8-10) started appearing in Admiralty Inlet two-three weeks ago and seem to be increasing in size and number, about a month earlier than last year if my memory is correct. I presume they will continue to come together as breeding season approaches. Last year they were in flocks in the hundreds in late March and April.
