Dave, et al.

I don't know when or how much this will affect viewing, but PSE is going to
begin a 3 year project to remove the piping on the hill, the buildings at
the top of the falls, and renovate the trail down to the base of the falls.
Hopefully, this will not close the lower viewing area and hopefully, they
will re-open the upper one before closing other areas.

hola:

i stopped by the falls briefly this afternoon, just in time to see the male
hotfoot it downriver (hotwing it?), i presume looking for some avian
delicacy. the female was across the river in one of the deadish trees that
overhangs the rock face in the same area of the rock where the old raptor
nest is they used two years ago. if she has started laying eggs, i did not
see them, so this year's scrape location is not known by me yet.

the viewing platform is 'closed for periodic inspection' and has been for a
couple weeks now. what the period length of the 'periodic inspection' is is
not known. viewing is best done from the end of the lower walkway/sidewalk
which has been christened 'falcon point' or some such thing by pse. a
number of trees were removed in the ongoing renovation, so the wind can get
pretty fierce at times -- warm clothing is a good idea.

regards,

t
