The weather was mild in Edmonds this morning (2-28-10) with few birds
out on the Sound. One of the adult Bald Eagles was perched on a mast
in the marina. One loon flew by and the only alcids seen were Pigeon
Guillemots, some still in basic plumage. Great Blue Herons remain
absent from the Marsh but one Killdeer was reported back yesterday.
A Merlin flew over as we walked through Harbor Square to the Marsh
viewing platforms. The Willow Creek Hatchery was the most birdy spot
and yielded both a Red-breasted Sapsucker and a Brown Creeper.
