Hi All,

I?ve not been able to get out in the field much recently, but I finally got
around to uploading some photos that I took along the Edmonds waterfront a
few weeks ago. Included are photos of an eagle on the breakwater, a Pelagic
Cormorant wrestling a large, green eel-like creature, shots of one of the
ever-cooperative Anna?s Hummingbirds at the marsh and more. They can be
seen in my New Photos gallery here:

I?ve had quite a bit of activity right here in my backyard today with a
large flock of Black-capped Chickadees, Red-breasted Nuthatches and
Ruby-crowned Kinglets feeding in my cedars and firs. A male Varied Thrush
was foraging in a dirt patch at the top of a low rock wall in the yard when
he was rudely interrupted by a gray squirrel. After startling the thrush,
the squirrel proceeded to dig right where the thrush had been scratching.
He pulled up a peanut (must be from the neighbors yard because I don?t feed
the wildlife), climbed up into the fir tree and ate it. I guess he didn?t
know the thrush wouldn?t have been interested even if he had unearthed the
nut :o).
