This morning I walked the Chehalis River Discovery Trail and checked the Goodrich Pond. With the warm spring like weather this year, the pond is about 1/4 full. There was no waterfowl today, just a lone Black-bellied Plover. The American Robins sure have turned up with at least 40 seen along the trail. A single Eurasian Collared-Dove was seen at the intersection of Wagner and Goodrich. Here are some birds seen at this location.

Bald Eagle 1
Northern Harrier 1
Red-tailed Hawk 2
American Kestrel 2
Black-bellied Plover 1
Eurasian Collared-Dove 1 (At Wagner Rd. and Goodrich Rd.)
Mourning Dove 15
Steller's Jay 6
Western Scrub-Jay 7
Bewick's Wren 2
Winter Wren 3
American Robin 40
American Pipit 12
Song Sparrow 25
Golden-crowned Sparrow 10
Pine Siskin 95
American Goldfinch 9

Now, late this afternoon, Sherry and I walked the Chehalis River Trail. We were hoping to get some owls like we have in the past, but none were found. On a non-bird note we watched a Beaver swimming in the river. Also, we had 60 Tundra Swans in the school playing field in Adna. Here are some of the birds we did see.

Common Goldeneye 1
Hooded Merganser 5
Belted Kingfisher 1
Red-breasted Sapsucker 2
Downy Woodpecker 1
Black-capped Chickadee 6
Chestnut-backed Chickadee 2
Winter Wren 3
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1
Brown Creeper 1
American Robin 12
Spotted Towhee 1
Golden-crowned Sparrow 18
