Hi all,

I traveled out to the Waterville Plateau today and then made the circle through Bridgeport to Brewster and back. Best bird of the day was a Northern Saw-Whet Owl at Bridgeport State Park. This was the first time I have ever had a daytime sighting of one. I literally could have reached out and touched it as it was so close!

Here's a few highlights:

Great Horned Owl - 2 hunting off utility poles before dawn on Waterville Plateau (WP)
Rough-legged Hawks - everywhere
Snow Bunting - heard a few in a flock of Horned Larks on the WP
Bohemian Waxwing - 400 birds at the Bridgeport Bar
Merlin - in Bridgeport

As my luck goes - no Gyrs were to be seen today. Great visibility and the main roads were ok today after it warmed up.

Good birding!
