Subject: [Tweeters] Townsend's Solitaire - West Seattle

Greetings, all,

The TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE reported on the Seattle C. B. C. was still
where found this morning near 39th and Warsaw. (Ask if you want
details.) I hesitate to encourage planting non-natives, but as it was
sitting on a juniper with "berries" (apologies to botanists), it seems
that's what it takes to get them to winter around Seattle, at least this
year.

Among birds on the south side of Alki Point were two DUNLIN with a
couple dozen SANDERLINGS, plus BLACK TURNSTONES, a PIED-BILLED GREBE
oddly in salt water, and on the north side, more BLACK TURNSTONES, plus
SURFBIRDS, and one pair of BLACK SCOTERS.
