My son and I were?on Sunset?Ave. about the same time Carol was south of us at the fishing?and marsh.??? About 35 Brant were in the water?just north of the dive park jetty.??They?eventually came to shore and walked the beach.? This is?first time during the autumn/winter migratory season that I have?seen the Brant on the shore.?? While I was photographing them from the bluff above the beach, I also got some shots of a Ruby-crowned kinglet hopping around inside a blackberry bramble.

The highlight of the?afternoon was watching one of our local adult bald eagles make three strafing runs out over the Sound about a? quarter mile NW of Sunset Ave.? I could not tell if it was going after fish or the birds floating on the water.? I got several shots of the birds diving under?water as the eagle flew by.?? It was amazing to see how?long the eagle could glide just above the water's surface without flapping its wings.
