Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 7. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The Gaston HOODED ORIOLE continues to be seen. The EE Wilson SWA
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER remains somewhat elusive but continues to be
reported. The Waldport ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK and the Netarts Spit SNOWY OWL
also continue. A possible FRIGATEBIRD was reported December 31 at Coos Bay
but could not be relocated.

BROWN PELICANS and HEERMANN?S GULLS continue along the coast with hundreds
of pelicans at Coos Bay. Two RED PHALAROPES were at Coos Bay January 1.
Several EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL were reported during the week. RED
CROSSBILLS were reported in numbers in the Coast Range and the Cascades.

On January 5 a LONG-TAILED DUCK was at the cove in Seaside. The Wireless
Road CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was seen again January 6. A BLACK PHOEBE and an
EARED GREBE were at Brownsmead January 2.

The January 2 Portland CBC found five RAVENS, a MAGPIE in North Portland,
and two GRAY JAYS in Forest Park. Ten TREE SWALLOWS were seen January 2 at
Fern Ridge Reservoir. A HARRIS?S SPARROW was seen January 4 in Ashland.

On December 30 a REDPOLL was in Warm Springs. The January 3 Redmond CBC
found 144 SCRUB-JAYS, 312 PINYON JAYS, 192 RAVENS, and a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE.
