Some of you may perhaps remember the saga of Sous-Anna last spring. She was
the baby hummingbird in the nest outside my bedroom window, who I watched
grow up and then, miracle of miracles, who fledged on camera
(www.flickr.com/photos/21030079 at N06/).

I've been watching the nest for some weeks now -- tattered, hanging in
chunks from its branches -- and had begun to think this might have been a
one-shot deal. But just now I happened to be looking through the scope when
Sous-Anna's mother (I presume - or maybe Sous-Anna herself?) alit and began
stitching in the nest!

I'm thrilled almost beyond words. Please keep your fingers crossed that this
year's story has as wonderful an ending as last year's!
