Tweets,
I do 8X binoculars since most of my birding is done while walking and
looking for birds hopping around in the bushes. I use a $280 pair with
a wider angle of view so I can spot the birds easier and like a 40mm
eye piece. If I'm looking at shorebirds or ducks, I use a spotting
scope. If possible, it is a good idea to try out the binoculars first
before the purchase.
