Cooper and Suckley, Dawson, Bowles, Kitchin and Jewett all mention magpie
movements through the passes in fall and presence into the winter ending up
in tide flat and praire areas, particularly in the Tacoma area but elsewhere
in the Puget Sound country as well. Bowles mentions groups of as many as
15-20.
