Tina and I spent the weekend in Cowlitz and Wahkiakum counties. On
Saturday, January 9, we found a GOLDEN EAGLE west of the Hoffstead visitor
center on the Toutle River valley. The clear weather allowed great views of
Mt St Helens. Today, we found 3 TUNDRA SWAN, a EURASIAN WIGEON, a MERLIN,
and a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL at Julia Butler-Hansen NWR; and about a dozen
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE, and a dark-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK on Puget Island.
