We all probably knew it would come to this as a part of Wash. State's
budget situation, and now it's in the open: more than 20 of Wash Dept
of Natural Resources' trail systems, campgrounds, and natural areas
could close as early as March.

"...On the chopping block are popular DNR hiking trails in King County,
including the Mount Si and Little Si trailheads, which receive combined
visits from more than 500,000 people per year, estimates show. Also on
the list are popular recreation areas in the South Sound - the McLane
Creek Nature Trail in Capitol Forest near Olympia and the Mima Mounds
Interpretive Center near Littlerock..."
