Subject: [Tweeters] Note from Roy - 1-12-2010: Pine Siskins and Mourning

Tweeters,
I've had a flock of at least 225 Pine Siskins at my feeders for the past
couple of weeks. I've not seen any notes about higher numbers of Pine
Siskins and just wondered if the flock here is unusual right now for our
area.
Also, over 100, and possibly as many as 150, Mourning Doves have been
visiting us every day for over a month. The local Cooper's Hawks apparently
are taking advantage of this " winged buffet" every few days. The fact that
the Coop's aren't more successful once again goes to show that being a
predator can be a tough business.
May all your birds be identified,
Denis DeSilvis
